Funeral services were held in the Zion Lutheran church at 2:30 p.m. Monday for Fred Charles Alm, 75, of Sauk Centre, who passed away at St. Michael's hospital on March 13. He had been in ill health for about the past 18 months and had been bedridden for the past eight weeks. Born at Blue Island, Ill. on December 16, 1876, he was the son of Christ and Sophie Alm. He lived in that community with his parents until he was 13 years old, at which time his family moved to Fairmont, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He was untied in marriage with Alvina Harms of Fairmont on Feb. 27, 1907. They lived until 1921, when they moved to Osakis. In 1932 they moved to a farm south of Westport, and in 1946 they retired and moved to Sauk Centre, where thy have lived since. Nine children were born to them, all of whom survive. The are: Norman, Bell Garden, Calif; Bernice Reichert, New Virginia; Ia; Melvin, Dorothy Van Amer, and Carroll of Alexandria; Leroy of Elbow Lake; Clarice, Mrs. Roy Personius of Jordon; Gladys, Mrs. Edwin Zarbok, Villard; Shirley, Mrs. Verlan Dickison of Sauk Centre. There are also 28 grandchildren, six sisters, and two brothers. Funeral services were conduted by Rev. J.F. Schumacher. Organist was Mrs. W. Holland, and soloist was Mrs. Harvey Lange. Funeral arrangements were made by Corrigan-Austin Funeral home. Charles Hesse, Roy Hamilton, Lester Judkins, Carl Uhlenkamp, Joseph Trager, and Elmer Hyleman were pallbearers. Attending the services from out of town were Mrs. Lena Fellerson and son Clarence, Mrs. Connie Graplar and son Robert, Mrs. Ida Selebrade, Fairmont, MN; Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Malo, Welcome3, MN; Mr. and Mrs. John Harms, Ray Weidenback, Harold Malo and Mrs. Ray Malo from Trman, MN; Mrs. and Mrs. wwm. Lueth and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Blatzheim from St. Paul' Mrs. marie Marx, Cicago, Ill; Mr. and Mrs. John Halligenm St. Michael, MN; Mrs. Ed Tenhoff and sons Harry and John and Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Tenhoff, fro Osakis.
