Jordan Aylor was the son of Morgan W. and Sarah G. Smith Aylor. He was born and lived in Fosterville until moving to Nashville in the 1870's. Many members of the Aylor family were longtime employees of the NC & St.L Railroad in Tennessee. In 1900, while working as a conductor, he was shot in Cowan, TN, by an angry customer who was forced to leave the train for non-payment. He died several days later from septicemia. According to his death certificate and obituary, he was buried in Christiana in Rutherford County, TN, alongside 2 sons and 1 brother, but no cemetery was named. He is most likely buried in the Webb Cemetery in Fosterville where several siblings are buried. The cemetery is overgrown with many destroyed headstones.
