George Bryant age 88 of Newport passed away Thursday Jan 10, 2013 in Newport Health and Rehab Center. He was a veteran of the U S Army having served in WWII and the Korean War. He loved his God, family and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Flora Bryant; also several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son, Mark Bryant of Heiskel, TN; daughters, Paula Chapman of Knoxville, Loretta Martinson and her husband Tom of Jacksonville, Fla; grandchildren Madisyn Chapman, Travis Chapman, Cory Bryant, Shelby Bryant; also his companion Eula Freeman and her family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2013 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Charlie Boggan officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Sunday prior to the funeral services. Burial will follow in the Hannon-Bryant Cemetery.
