He was an employee of the Bank of Gleason and a member of the Gleason First Baptist Church and Gleason Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his father, Harmon C. Johnson of Gleason. Survivors include his wife, Sally Johnson; three sons, James H. (Jimmy) Johnson, John D. Johnson and Gary T. Johnson of Gleason; mother, Irene Stallcup Johnson of Gleason; and two brothers, John Lee Johnson of Gleason and Henry Bryant Johnson of Chicago, Illinois.
