She was born January 8, 1927, in Council Bluffs, to the late Bennie and Lottie (Vallier) Barritt. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1945. Lois attended vocational school in Missouri Valley to become a school teacher. She taught in country schools for many years and later was a substitute teacher in Council Bluffs and Tri-Center School systems. Lois married Max Guill on June 6, 1948. They lived in the Underwood and Council Bluffs area until his death in 1961. Lois married Vern Oloff of Persia on August 18, 1966. She was a member of Persia United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Lottie Barritt; first husband, Max Guill; second husband, Vern Oloff, in 2003; and grandson, Brad Guill, in 2001.
Lois is survived by her sons, Rick Guill and wife, Patti, Bruce Guill and wife, Sheryl, all of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Bryan (Kimberly) Guill, of Altoona, Iowa, Andrew (Jennifer) Guill, of Council Bluffs, Brent Guill, of Minneapolis, Minn., Brenda (Josh) McDermott, of Monticello, Minn.; great grandchildren, Madison, Kaelin and Gabe McDermott, Samuel and Amelia Guill, and Madilyn Guill; brother, Elmer Barritt and wife, Joyce; sister, Phyllis Rajcevich, and husband, Eli, all of Council Bluffs, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Prayer service, Tuesday, 6 p.m., followed by visitation with the family until 8 p.m., at the Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral service, Wednesday, 10 a.m., at the mortuary with Rev. Orris Drake officiating. Interment Hazel Dell Cemetery with a lunch following at Hazel Dell Methodist Church Hall. The family will direct memorials.
