Hartsville- Funeral service for Terresa LaFay Johnson Watkins Atkinson, 83, who died March 6, 1998, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8th at the Prospect Methodist Church. The Reverends Buddy Amerson and Bill Wood officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home of Hartsville.
Mrs. Atkinson was born in Darlington County, a daughter of the late Russell and Beulah Lane Johnson. She was a member of the Prospect Methodist Church and retired from Byerly Hospital as a nurse.
Surviving are a son, D.W. Watkins of Crawford, Georgia.; a sister, Mrs. Vera Hooker of Atlanta; four grandsons, Wayne Watkins of Marion, North Carolina, David Watkins of Cheraw, South Carolina, Derrall Watkins of Gainesville, Florida, and Wyatt Watkins of Augusta, Georgia; nine great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson.
