Benjamin fought in 1770 with the North Carolina State Militia under General Green in battles of 99 SC near Charlotte, Yadkin River, Guilford Court House. Records are on file in the National Archive where he applied for and received a pension. After his death, his wife Nancy applied for and received his pension for his service during the Revolutionary War.
