Ralph Fledderjohann, 82, of Westfield, Ind., died at 12:50 p.m. Oct. 26, 2006, at Lakeview Health Care Center, Carmel, Ind.
He was born Feb. 14, 1924, near New Knoxville, to August W. and Matilda E. Fledderjohann. On March 16, 1947, he married Eileen M. Fosnight, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Dennis (Liz), Highland, Ind., Darrell (Sandy), Colorado Springs, Colo., Daniel (Sandy), Carmel, and Doyle (Julie), Celina; a daughter, Doris (Mike) Alderink, Westfield, Ind.; a brother, Myron, New Knoxville; a sister, Helen Wellman, New Knoxville; a daughter-in-law, Margaret (Dee) Pinney, Toccoa, Ga.; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, David; a brother, Vernon; and a sister, Elmeda Wierwille.
He worked for 39 years at Hoge Lumber Company, New Knoxville, and served as a councilman for the village of New Knoxville. He was a graduate of New Knoxville High School and a member of Faith Alliance Church, New Bremen, and Roving Volunteers in Christ Service.
Services were at 1 p.m. today at the church, the Rev. Dean Greenwood officiated. Burial will followed at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, west of New Knoxville.
Contributions can be made to the church building fund, the American Bible Society or the New Knoxville Historical Society.
