Lawrence William Virden, 67, died unexpectedly at 2:49 AM Monday, July 15, 1985, at Home Hospital, apparently of a heart attack. Born Aug. 4, 1917, he was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette. In 1950 he was married here to Ethel Hicks, who survives.

Mr. Virden worked in the maintenance and construction department at Home Hospital until retiring in October, 1984. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

His widow is the only immediate survivor. Service Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel on July 17, the Rev. Kent C. Stenzel officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
