Frederick William Archer, son of William and Druisilla Archer was born near Colby, Kansas, April 30, 1887, and passed from this life as he succumbed to a heart attack on May 9, 1945 at the age of 58 years and 9 days.

At an early age he moved with his parents to Geneva where they resided for a short period and then moved to Hebron.

On August 18, 1909 he was united in marriage to Belle Fitzpatrick. To this union one son and one daughter were born.

After their marriage they resided for a short time on a farm near Gilead, later moving on a homestead near Torrington, Wyoming where they lived for three years. They returned to Hebron in 1922 where Mr. Archer opened a tire shop which he operated until the day of his death. He was at work when stricken.

Fred was a member of the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department.

He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, daughter, Roenaabelle at home, son Harry in the United States Navy, his aged mother who made her home with him, four sisters: Mrs. Martha Hagenlocker of Dodge City, Kansas, Mrs. Lulu Knowlton of Hastings, Mrs. Lottie Maxson of Omaha, and Mrs. Florence Carr of Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers: Bert of Fairbury and Jess of Hastings. Also one daughter-in-law and two granddaughters besides many other relatives and friends. One sister, Mrs. Sadie Tracy of Hollywood, California passed away ten years ago.

The funeral service was held in the Hebron Methodist Church on Saturday afternoon, May 12. Rev. R.W. Sandsted was the officiating minister. Mrs. Geo. Wrightsman and Mrs. R.W. Sandsted sang, "Face to Face" and "Does Jesus Care". Mrs. Harold Killinger accompanied. Pallbearers were members of the Fire Department. Burial was in a Hebron Cemetery.
