James Reinke served as President of the National Rifle Association from 1985 to 1987. He had worked for Eastern Airlines, retiring as Vice President of Government Affairs. He was an accomplished marksman, firearms collector, and hunter. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He attended college at Moravian College in Allentown, PA, after attending high school in York, PA.
He was the son of Theodore REINKE and Gertrude SMALL and the husband of Ruth Katherine GIRVIN. His wife died February 29, 2000. He was survived by two sons, two grandchildren, and one brother.
The family suggested that memorial contributions could be made to Lititz Moravian Congregation, 8 Church Square, Lititz, Lancaster Co., PA 17543.
