Phyllis Schmidt, 81, of Lincoln, was blessed with her eternal reward on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013. Phyllis was greeted by her Lord and Savior as well as her husband, Lawrence, daughter, Pamela, parents Calvin & Marie (Brandner) Serr, sister Doris and brothers Raymond and Frederick Serr. Born and raised in Sutton on Jan. 26, 1932, Phyllis (Serr) was baptized and confirmed at Emanuel Reformed Church. She attended country school through 8th grade before entering and graduating from Sutton High School in 1949. Following high school, Phyllis moved to Lincoln and worked for Farm Bureau Insurance.

Phyllis is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Patricia & Bill Doney of Lincoln; Audrey & Harold Stewart of Fort Smith, Ark,.; Catherine & Jerry Barger of Lincoln; son and daughter-in-law, David & Kelly Schmidt of Prior Lake, Minn.; grandchildren, Nichol (Doney) & Matt Belka, Nathan Doney, Cody Barger, Morgan Schmidt; great-grandchildren, Sophie and Chase Belka; sister, Eleanor (David) Chambers of Lincoln; sister-in-law Verlene (Jim) Hancock of Lincoln; many nieces, nephews, & cousins.

Visitation will be held from 12-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home. The family will be present from 6-8 pm. The Pastor Jim Goodenberger will be officiating. Funeral services at 11 am on Saturday, Feb. 9, at Eastridge Presbyterian Church, 1135 Eastridge Drive in Lincoln, with burial in Sutton at the Sutton Cemetery. Memorials to the family will be distributed between the NE Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and Eastridge Presbyterian Church.
