From Thomas Higgerson:
The photograph of the grave marker posted at the memorial shows a badly worn storn, and it appears that a lot of the surface has flaked off. I took a photograph of the stone in December of 1982, and the stone was in much better condition then. The photograph itself is a little too dark but I can read the epitaph, including the dates, and it appears to read "Isiah I. Guymon was born Nov. 10, 1860 and died March the -- 1881". Fortunately, I also examined the stone closely and wrote down the epitaph in a notebook that I have kept to this day. The death day was not readable even in 1982, but I am nearly certain that the death year is 1881, even though I marked it down in my book with a question mark.
