Born in Bethlehem, PA she was raised by her Grandmother Julia Antku Kadar on Second Street with her brother Frank John Leitold, Jr.. Mary Ellen graduated High School and joined the Army, later married Kennie Crum and lived in Maryland before moving to Greeneville, TN to co-run her husband's family store. They worked side by side for many years. When she passed away Kennie suffered a broken heart. Their love and devotion to each other was well known and obvious to everyone who knew them. Her heart condition later in life and the subsequent treatments led to other organ damage and caused her death. She had 3 sons, Jimmie, Jeremy and Jan. She was MY Aunt Tootsie, as we called her. Sweet, petite, pretty, loving, generous and kind. I loved her and I love her still. A wonderful mother, wife and sister to my Dad. She had a heart of gold and is surely among the Angels. May she Rest in Peace and spend her days in heaven with her beloved husband Kennie.
