Funeral Mass of Christian burial for Charles Henry Bube, 81, of Clarksville, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Clarksville, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery, Jeffersonville. He died in his sleep, Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013.
He was adored by his family and beloved by all who knew him. He was born June 2, 1931. He grew up in Louisville, graduated from St. Xavier High School in 1950 and enlisted in the Navy where he served in the Korean War on the USS Missouri from 1951-1953. When he returned from active duty, he married his high school sweetheart, Charlene Miller, in 1954. He worked at P. Lorillards National Tobacco for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Charlene; his sons, Paul Bube and his wife, Joni, and Keith Bube; his daughters, Vicki Bube, Janie Grove and her husband, Jim, and Amy Nall and her husband, Pat; nine grandchildren, Julie Waiz Flynn and her husband, Mike, Jordan Waiz, Jacob Waiz, Jenna Waiz, Melissa Bube, Belinda Bube, Hadley Grove, Daniel Nall, Hanna, Hannah Nall, Annie Nall; one great-granddaughter, Sophia Flynn; and brother, Joe Bube and his wife, Kathy. His love, kindness, humor and positive attitude will be missed by all who knew him. He was truly an inspiration to his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Janie Bube; and his daughters, Debbie Bube Waiz (Billy) and Nancy Bube.
