Judith Ann Casey Jessee
Mrs. Judith Ann Casey Jessee, age 64, of the Shannon Heights section of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2005 in a Richlands, Virginia hospital following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Pearl Preas Casey.

She had made her home in the Richlands, Virginia area all of her life and was a retired teacher, volunteer coordinator, elementary supervisor, assistant principal, and principal for the Tazewell County School System having worked for over 36 years. She was a former Adjunct faculty member of SVCC. She was a Richlands High School Class of 1958 Graduate and received her B.S. in Education from Bluefield State College and her Masters in Education from Virginia Tech. She was a past president of the Virginia Association of Elementary School Principals and member of the VEA and NEA. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a member of the Clearview United Methodist Church in Doran, Virginia where she was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Richlands Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #104.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Eugene Jessee; one son, Dewey Charles Jessee; one sister, Mary Frances Griffin; and five brothers, Fred, Harry, Charles, Jim, and J.C. Casey; and one sister in law, Nadine Casey.

Survivors are:

One Daughter: Jacqueline "Jeannie" Phillips and husband, Fred of Cedar Bluff, Virginia

One Son: Joseph Edward Jessee of Cedar Bluff, Virginia

Three Sisters:
Sylvia White and husband, Tommy of Belfast, Virginia
Ella McCall and husband, Clarence of Madisonville, Tennessee
Alice Pyott and husband, Jack of Claypool Hill, Virginia

Three Grandchildren: Jack Carl Jessee, Lukas Jessee Phillips, and Olivia Ann Harris Phillips

Three sisters-in-law: Sandra Wagner, Jettie Casey, and Faye Casey

Several nieces and nephews also survive and special friends: Bo Addair, Bruce and Virginia Russell, Jay and Laura Stilwell, and Michelle Matney

Funeral services for Mrs. Judith Ann Jessee will be conducted Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at 8:00PM at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Paul Griffith and Dr. Clarence McCall officiating. A private interment will follow at Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: David Lambert, Woodrow Mullins, Allen Hess, Gratton Webb, Smitty Smith, Pete Altizer, Michael Casey, Lloyd Smith, Gary McReynolds, Doug Fox, Deaton Jones, Jerry Plaster, and Roger Hankins. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men of the Clearview United Methodist Church. Friends may call after 4:00PM at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
