When Rebecca Lloyd was born on January 2, 1746, in Stamford, Connecticut, her father, John, was 34, and her mother, Sarah, was 26. She married Edmund Quincy, a Harvard Graduate and merchant in Boston and they had one son together, Benjamin Quincy. She then married Hon Lt Governor John Broome, a Revolutionary War hero and they had nine children together. She died on April 10, 1800, in Manhattan, New York, at the age of 54, and was buried there.
