Mrs. V.P. Roberts
Sarah M. Morrow was born Oct. 4, 1843 in Tuscarawas county Ohio and came with her parents to Clarke county Iowa in May 1856.She was married to V.P. Roberts on March 30, 1869 at her father's home in this county. Her death came suddenly Nov. 25, 1907, in Los Angeles, California where she had recently gone on a to visit her son.
She leaves surviving her, her husband, V.P. Roberts and four sons, namely; James W. of Union county, Iowa; Thomas A. of Los Angles, California; Walter A. of Spokane, Washington and Vessalius M. of St. Louis, Mo. All were present at her funeral.
At the age of seventeen she became a member of the Presbyterian church and later in life united with the M.E. church to which her husband belonged.
The body arrived in Osceola Sunday morning accompanied by her son, Thomas and the funeral services were held Monday Dec. 2nd at the home of her brother; W.E. Morrow in Osceola conducted by Rev. Davis, pastor of the M.E. church, after which interment was made in the Maple Hill cemetery. A good woman has gone from among us and many friends sympathize with the family in the sore bereavement.
