Everett Edward Barham, the oldest son of Benjamin Franklin Barham and first wife, Mary Catherine Ruffner, was raised first in Licking County, Ohio, and then Page County, Virginia. He and three of his brothers moved to Cumberland, Maryland, when he was about twenty. He remained there throughout his life and married Myrtle Viola Allen in 1895. Late in life he was visiting his sons, Everett, Jr. and Benjamin, in Siskiyou, California, when he died, cause unknown.
