MRS. MARTHA J. ROBERTS
Martha Jane Roberts, 81, of 1035 South Madison avenue, died at 6:50 a.m. today at Ottumwa Hospital.
The daughter of James E. and Nancy Johnson Davis, she was born in Decatur county June 23, 1874. She had been a resident of Ottumwa 32 years. Her marriage to James W. Roberts took place February 28, 1895 in Clarke county. He preceded her in death January 13, 1947.
She was a member of the Christian church.
Survivors include: Five sons, Wilson D., Floyd P. and Thomas A. Roberts, all of Ottumwa, and Clarence and Bernard Roberts, both of Chicago; a daughter, Mrs. Opal Woo, Rock Island, Ill. 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two daughters, a son, and three sisters.
The body was removed to the Johnson funeral chapel awaiting completion of arrangements.

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Jane Roberts, 81, of 1035 South Madison avenue, who died at the Ottumwa hospital at 6:50 a.m. Saturday, will be held Tuesday. Short services will be at 10 a.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel, followed by other services at 2:30 p.m. at the Watts funeral home at Murray. The Rev. LaVerne Morris, pastor of the Davis Street Christian church
