JAMES W. ROBERTS
James Wilson Roberts, 76, died at 9:03 p.m. Monday at his home, 1035 South Madison avenue. He came to Ottumwa in 1922 and went to work for John Morrell & Co. where he was employed until his retirement in 1941. He was a member of the Christian church.
He was born July 26, 1870 in Clarke county, the son of Versales and Sarah Roberts, and was married in 1895 to Martha Davis who survives him as do the following children: Wilson D. Roberts, Floyd P. Roberts and Abner T. Roberts all of Ottumwa; Clarence J. Roberts and Bernard P. Roberts both of Chicago, and Mrs. Opal Woo of Rock Island. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three brothers, Thomas Roberts and Versales Roberts of Los Angeles and Abner Roberts of Osceola. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters and one son.
The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel pending completion of funeral arrangements.

ROBERTS SERVICES
Funeral services for James Wilson Roberts, who died at his home 1035 South Madison street, Monday at 9:03 p.m. will be held at the Johnson Funeral chapel at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and at 2 p.m. at the Watts funeral home at Murray, Iowa. Both services will be conducted by the Rev. Harold Welsh of Ottumwa. Burial will be in Maple Hill cemetery at Murray.
