He served in the US Army during World War II as a General Clerk in the Burma India Arena. His skills as a typist kept him from direct combat, yet placed him in the hospitals and areas needed to assist our troops. His hand reached out to many of the poor and needy in these areas. DeWayne retired from Hughes Aircraft in 1977 after a 30 year career, as a Document Control Supervisor. DeWayne will be missed by the loved ones left behind and always remembered for his laughter and love. His special sense of humor, enjoyment for antics an endearing smile will forever fill our hearts. DeWayne lived life to the fullest and enjoyed traveling with his wife, Elsie. His kind way with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will keep his spirit alive for generations yet to come.

survived by wife of 59 years, Elsie Beryle Mickelson and their sons Terry (wife Jenny) and Tom (wife Char) Ahlstrom

also survived by grandchildren Shad, Jamie, Kevin, Krista, Kasey, Kyle, Kenny, and Keith Ahlstrom, Jeff Neilson (wife Gena)
and great-grandchildren, Generra and Nash
and sole surviving brother, Marvell
