G.W. Abernathy, an old resident and an estimable citizen, died of heart disease last Friday afternoon. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon from the Asbury A.M.E. Church and was attended by a large congregation. Fort Pillow Post, of which deceased was an honored member, conducted the services. The remains were interred in Topeka Cemetery. Deceased leaves a widow and several children to mourn his loss.
