City of San Francisco Coroner's Register report shows that Irene Lois Kisch (AKA Irene Lois Hillyer) died between 6:00am and 6:25am on 26 Jan 1948; found dead by Shum Seto and J.C. Jackson "lying on the sidewalk of Clara St. about 7 feet behind rear building line of 377 6th street" in San Francisco. She died wearing a blue street coat with a Policeman's Ball ticket in her pocket.
Autopsy showed blood alcohol level as "0.370" (now considered to be dangerously intoxicated), with cause of death as "cirrhosis of liver" and "cerebral edema" caused by alcohol toxicity. Coroner ruled death due to natural causes.
Briefly identified as "Jane Doe #2" before identity was confirmed through fingerprints. Removal arrangements made by son Frank Hillyer. Husband listed as George Kisch of 851 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco CA (in the Tenderloin neighborhood). Buried in Lower Lake, California, same cemetery as her parents.
