BLOOMFIELD - Charles E. Dicks, 55, died May 28, 1993, at University Hospitals in Iowa City. He was born May 16, 1938, in Albia to Clarence and Mildred Dale Dicks. He married Jane Padget on Aug. 19, 1972, in Ottumwa. Dicks was a Davis and Wapello county resident during his lifetime and had worked for Farm Services in Bloomfield for several years. He had served in the Iowa National Guard and was a member of Ottumwa Church of the Brethren. He was a member of Iowa Kidney Foundation, Farm Bureau in Davis County and AARP. He is survived by his wife and father, Clarence of Ottumwa; five brothers, Earl of Payson, Ariz., Kenneth of Ottumwa, Robert of Batavia, Ernest of Bloomfield and Carl of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Karen Madden of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-mother Marjorie. The service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, the pastor Samuel Norris officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. The family will be at the funeral home 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorials have been established to Kidney Foundation of Iowa or his church.
