OBITUARY
Gertrude Morgan, age 84, of Akron, died Friday, April 15, 2005 at Akron General Medical Center.
Born Nov. 23, 1920 in Jacksonville, Athens County, Ohio, daughter of the late George and Sarah Ellen Taylor Bernard, she was a graduate of Jacksonville-Trimble H.S., retired secretary from Allstate Insurance Co. During World War II, she was a riveter for Goodyear, and was a member of Thea Chaper 192 OES.
She is survived by sister, Althea Whaley of Athens; two brothers, Wilbur (Maxine) Bernard of Franklin and Robert Bernard of Athens; several nephews and nieces; and special friend, Ida Waldman of Akron. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David, and five brothers.
Funeral service conducted Tuesday, 1 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens, by Re. Mary Jo Yeakel. Burial at Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster.
