Found Dead at Home - Resident of Gladwin 37 Years

Mrs. Nettie Bertina Lanphear, who has been living alone since the death of her husband, Edgar B. Lanphear, Feb 27, was found dead Monday morning, June 25, about 10 o'clock by a neighbor who went to the house to call. She was in her night clothes sitting in a rocking chair, and the bed showed that she had occupied it. The coroners who examined her decided that her death was caused by heart trouble.

Nettie Bertina Yauger was born July 24, 1859, in New York state. She was married to Edgar B. Lanphear Jan. 29, 1880. To this union were born three children, Clinton Roberts Lanphear, deceased, and George Lanphear of Paw Paw, and Mrs. Mary Robinson of Flint.

Mr. and Mrs. Lanphear came to Gladwin in 1886, resided in town a short time and then located on their present farm.

She is survived by her son, George Lanphear of Paw Paw, her daughter, Mrs. Shelton Robinson of Flint, and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock conducted by Rev. E. T. Smith, followed by burial in Highland cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. George Lanphear and children of Paw Paw and Mr. and Mrs. Shelton Robinson and children of Flint were here to look after the last rites.
