Death of John C Wilde
John Cook Wilde, 72, died last week at the Hotel Warren, South Deerfield, where he went a month ago to spend the winter with Mrs Wilde. Mr Wilde was born Middlefield Oct. 20, 1844. When a young man, Mr Wilde lived in South Deerfield with William Warren and was connected with him in the livery business. September 19, 1867 he married Miss Mary Warren in Ashfield and has made his home in Ashfield for many years. He was in the livery business there. Mr Wilde was the first to start a stage route from Ashfield to Shelburne Falls. For the past eight weeks he had been in poor health and under the care of Doctor Doyle of South Deerfield and Dr Murray of New York.

The funeral of John Cook Wilde was held at Hotel Warren yesterday morning, Rev Thomas Miller of Ashfield officiating. The body was taken to Ashfield for burial.
