LEON [DOC] DEMERE, FLORENCE FORMAN DIES SUDDENLY

Leon [Doc] Demere 51 of 544 South Schuyler Avenue, a veteran of World War I and a foreman at the Forence Stove Works, died at 8 P.M. yesterday at his home following a short illness.
The hour of the fueral services has not been set. The rites, however, will be held from St. Patrick church with burial in Mount Calvary cemetery. The American Legion post will be in charge of graveside services. The body is at the Clancy funeral home where friends may call.
Mr. Demere was born Feb.14, 1895 in Palmer, Kansas and after serving in World War I as a lieutenant he married on Oct. 20, 1920 and took up residence in Kankakee county. He was a member of St. Patrick Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign wars.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret , a son, Seaman first Class Wilfred, now in the Southwest Pacific, a brother , Andrew of Bartley, Neb. an two sisters, Mrs. Rosalie Doris of Whiting, Ind. and Mrs. Lula Turgeant of Chicago. A son, Lt. Louis Demere was killed in an airplane crash in California on June 1st. 1943 and the deceased's mother died in Decemeber 1945.
