Alma Tyrece "Ty" Blessing, 87, passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013. Service: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst. Interment will follow in Blubonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She was born Sept. 4, 1925, as Alma Tyrece Lake to Rufus "Jack" Madison Lake and Lillian Esta Cox Lake, in Eli, now known as Memphis, Texas. Ty moved to Fort Worth in 1935 when she was 10 years old. On May 9, 1942, she married Arthur Thomas Blessing and then spent most of her life as a homemaker, awesome seamstress and apartment manager. She enjoyed going to casinos and playing the slots. Ty was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus "Jack" Lake and Esta Lake; husband, Arthur Thomas Blessing; brothers, Marion "Sonny" Lake and Jackie Lake Sr.; sisters, Bettie East and Tommie Whiteside; son-in-law, Joe Driskill; and granddaughter, Melissa Driskill. Survivors: Son, David Blessing and wife, Linda, of Watauga; daughters, Jeanne Driskill of Sugar Land, Anita Hamilton and husband, Travis, of Cleburne and Joyce Hohstadt and husband, Billy, of Grandfield, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Phillips; and many nieces and nephews.
