ROBINSON. William Clayton Robinson, 79, died at 6:55 am Sunday, July 6, 1986, at Jersey Community hospital. Born in Guilford, Missouri, son of the late Henry Clay & Ona (Carroll) Robinson, he married the former Margie Jane Brotherton in 1931, in St. Louis. A WWII Navy veteran, he was employed as a wholesale hardware salesman with Witte Hardware of St. Louis for 54 years retiring in 1971. Surviving are his wife; 1 daughter, Wilma Brooks of Jerseyville; 2 granddaughters; and 2 sisters, Annice Rinesmith of Bridgeton, Missouri, and Elizabeth Bader of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Visitation will be from 4-9 pm today at Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Services will be held there at 1 pm Tuesday with Rev. Simon A. Simon officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery in Jerseyville, with graveside military rites by American Legion Post 492. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society.
