He was born January 19, 1932 in Jefferson, PA to the late Wilbert Carl and Florence Mable Bower McGee.
He was preceded in death by Nannie Ennis McGee; his brother, Budd A. McGee and his grandsons, Riley Fletcher McGee and Rue Edward McGee III.
Mr. McGee was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Air Force. He owned and operated the former McGee's Wrecker Service in Catlett and then worked for Fairfax County until retirement. He then worked in the grocery department at Wal-Mart in Culpeper for 10 years.
Survivors include four sons, Rixey C. "Sam" McGee and wife Darlene, William R. "Billy" McGee and wife Charlene, Rue E. "Eddie" McGee, Jr. and wife Daphne, James E. "Jimmy" McGee, Sr. and wife Cherie; two daughters: Norma M. Haught and husband Thomas and Mable E. Young and husband Joe, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Additional survivors include his siblings, Lillian McGee Stahlman, Elsie McGee Snyder, Ethel McGee Davis of Pennsylvania, Carlos Lee McGee of Iowa, and Doris McGee Getty of New York.
The service will be held at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church on Thursday, December 27 at 10:00 AM with Rev. M. Peyton Embrey officiating. Interment will be at the Culpeper National Cemetery.
