Jan 22, 1927 - Feb 4, 2013 MOORE Harold Albert "Sarge" Herd, 86, departed this life on February 4, 2013, in Norman, OK. He was born on January 22, 1927, in St. Louis, OK to A.F. and Estella Herd. He attended Moore Schools and was a member of the Moore 1921-58 Alumni Association and a member of the Moore American Legion Post 184. He married Letha Bruce on June 13, 1950, in Bethany, OK. His family was very important to him, especially his four grandsons. Harold is survived by his son, Kevin Herd and wife Robin and their children, Kyle and Jacob; daughter, Karen McElrath and husband Billy and their children, Cameron and Carson - all of Moore; sister, Ann Bishop, of Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 59 years; one brother and one sister. Funeral ceremony will be Saturday, February 9, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Mike Bumgarner officiating. Interment will follow in the City of Moore Cemetery.
