Services for James "Jimmy" Myers will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Mitchell McDonald and James Rickles officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Myers, age 82, of Meridian, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Specialty Hospital of Meridian. He was the retired tax collector/assessor for the city of Meridian and was treasurer for his beloved church Druid Hills United Methodist. He was a loving husband, father, and Pop-Pop.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Gertie; sons, Mike and his wife, Debbie, and Kenny and his wife, Toni; granddaughters, Melissa Grimes and Paxton Myers; 5 great-grandchildren, Lace, Rowdy, Dash, Noah, and Nyah; one brother, Johnny Myers; two sisters, Adeline McMillan and Mattie Barrett; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Larry Johnson and his nephews, Larry McMillan, Tommy McMillan, Douglas Johnson, Charles Barrett, and Mark Lyon. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friends Together Sunday School class.

Jimmy was the son of William Thomas "Bud" and Minnie Lee Johnson Myers. His siblings included: Louva D Myers Hardy, Grace Dean Myers Johnson, Cloyd Rexford Myers, Mattie Sue Myers Barrett, Alvin Arnold Myers, Ethel Adelean Myers McMillan, and Johnny Thomas Myers.
