Mr. Wayne H. Cockburn, 84, a native of Gravelly, Ark., and a resident of Florence, passed away Aug. 4, 2011, at ECM Hospital. Wayne was founder of Mid South Extrusion Die Co. and Central Extrusion Die Co. (Cockburn Enterprises Inc.). He was a beloved husband, father and "Paw" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and a kind, generous and compassionate friend to all.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at Greenview Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Brother Jason Moore. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Arthur and Ethel Lee Ornsbey Cockburn; sisters, Charlene Baker, Willie Mae Russell, Shirley Fay Oliger; and brother, Russell Arless Cockburn.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Betty Lou Rogers Cockburn; sons, Terry Wayne Cockburn and wife, Lila, Gary Allen Cockburn; daughter, Gina Lynette South and husband, Ricky; eight granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Eddy Oliger, Jeff Miller, Danny Stutts, Charles Watkins, Ricky Curtis and Tyler Curtis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 300, Memphis, TN 38148-0552.
