Frank Klynsma, the son of John and Kate (Zwier)
Klynsma was born at Maxwell City New Mexico on April 2, 1905. He lived his youth in New Mexico, Colorado, and Hospers IA. He received his early education at Christian School in Hospers and Northwestern Academy in Orange City. Following his high school graduation, Frank earned his teaching degreee by attending colleges at Englewood Chicago, the University of Denver and William Penn Collega at Oskaloosa, IA. He furthered his education with courses at Wesmar College in LeMars.
Frank was united in marriage to Anne DeVries on Aug. 13,1929 at Hospers, IA. Following their marriage Frank taught school at Sanborn for 7 years before moving to Denver,CO where he sold insurance for Prudential for 13 years. They then moved to Peoria, IA where Frank taught for 9 years and the last 7 years were spent teaching at Hospers Christian School. Frank retired from teaching and then owned a candy vending company. They moved to Sanborn in April 1978. Frank died at Baum-Harmon Hospital at Primghar on Jan. ll, 1992.
He is survived by his daughter and son in law: Marcia and Alvin Vande Griend fo Visalia, CA; Grandchildren: Scott, Tim,Randy, Penny, and Holly; two great grandchildren Tyler and Ross; two half brothers Joe and Bill Smit of Sheldon and 2 half sisters Winnie Poppema and Jennie Waanders.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Anne, one brother, John and 3 half brothers and 2 half sisters.
Frank was a member of the Sanborn Christian Ref. Church and during his lifetime served as elder at various congregations. he was an avid reader and enjoyed doing various types of word puzzles."
