William Micheal was the 5th child, and 3rd son, to Charles & Mary Ann (Horrigan) Mahan. He lived in Oelwein, Iowa for part of his youth and also in Groton, SD before settling into life in Rockford, Illinois.

Sometime around 1941 Bill & Emma divorced. Soon after he married Mary (Blunt) Palmer, also divorced. At the time of Bill's death, she purchased this duel plot, but later married Frank Curry--she preceded him in death. She was buried with her 2nd husband.
William had several occupations, including Tinner and Painter, but eventually became a Plumber by trade.
