She and Richard Sumbera were married in Megargel on 23 February 1943. He preceded her in death.
She was retired and had worked as a nurses aide at Hamilton Hospital in earlier years. She was a lifetime resident of Megargel, a member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church, KJZT and the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary.
Survived by one son - Ben Sumbera of Grand Paririe; one daughter - Bernice Gowens of Abilene, one brother - Joe Cernosek of Graham, three sisters - Martha Shelley of Olney, Ann Shimek of Lubbock, Agnes Kovar of Rosenburg; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
