Mrs. Annie Caviness,age 91,died Wednesday July 10 at the Yell County Hospital at Danville. She had been a patient in the Mitchell Nursing Home at Danville for four years after breaking her hip in a fall. Mrs. Caviness, widow of Bob Caviness was a member of a pioneer Yell cotton family came to Yell County from Missouri 110 years ago. Miss Annie ,as she was called By her many friends and neighbors, grew up at Gravley. The family returned to Dardanelle when she was 17. She married 10 years later and moved back to Gravley where she lived until she entered The Mitchell Nursing Home.She was a member of the Methodist Church for 65 years. Survivors include one son,Robert Caviness of Gravley; four daughters,Mrs. Lillie Clements of Gravley, Mrs. Grace Rainey of Mount Nebo,Mrs. Fred Burnette of Dardanelle, and Mrs. Fred Harris of Waldron; one sister,Mrs. Minnie Gardner of Danville; several Grandchildren and 13 Great- Grandchildren. Funeral service was held at 11:00AM Friday at the Methodist Church in Gravley with Rev. C. H. Farmer officiating. Burial was near Gravley by Cornwell Funeral Home.Grandsons and Nephews served as pallbearers. Amemorial fund has been established at the Gravley Methodist Church.
