Philip Jefferson Field of Mount Vernon, Missouri, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 25, 2021. He was born April 10, 1916, to Andrew and Mabel (Zollman) Field in Macon, Missouri. He attended both Wheaton College, Illinois; and Park College, Missouri. Philip served his country with the Eighth Air Force, 306 Group, 368 Squadron as a B17 pilot during World War II. He retired from the Bendix Corporation in Kansas City Missouri.

On August 18, 1943, Philip married Lena Faye (Campbell) Field of Witts Springs, Arkansas. Philip was preceded in death by his wife who died December 31, 1978 and by his son, Ronald Philip Field, who died October 13, 2018. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Ann Whisler and husband Stephen of Springfield, Missouri; his daughter-in-law, Louise Field of Stillwater, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Charlotte Prewitt, Chad Field, Mark Whisler, and Suzanne Norman; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Philip’s funeral service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Second Baptist Church in the Fireside Room, Springfield, MO. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at
Witts Springs Cemetery in Witts Springs, Arkansas, at 3:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Gideons International.
