Jean M. Wilson, 88, of Axton, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem.
She was born July 10, 1923, in Detroit, Mich., to Archer P. McMillan and Mollie Jo Nance McMillan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Madison Wilson.
She worked for W.M. Bassett Co. for 25 years and later for Farm Bureau Insurance in Martinsville.
She was a member of Carroll Memorial United Methodist Church in Axton.
Surviving are a sister, Roberta M. Brinegar of Spencer; and two nephews.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville with Pastor Anne Sisson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville and other times at the home at 505 Poplar Fork Road, Axton.
Memorials may be made to Carroll Memorial United Methodist Church, 250 Turner Ashby Road, Martinsville, Va. 24112, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
