Joe Berenda Of Fair Oaks Dies Tuesday
Farmer At Fair Oaks Fifty Years Passes Away at Lafayette Hospital
Joseph Berenda, a native of Bohemia who had farmed in the vicinity of Fair Oaks for approximately a half-century, passed away at St. Elizabeth hospital in Lafayette at noon Tuesday. His death followed an illness of eight weeks.
Mr. Berenda was 77 years of age. He was born in Bohemia, a son of John and Barbara Berenda. He came to America during his boyhood and in 1901 married to Anna Dudek of Chicago.
About fifty years ago he located in the vicinity of Fair Oaks where he had since farmed.
Surviving besides the widow are three children, Edward, Joseph, and Emalie, all living at the parental home, and a brother, Frank Berenda, of Newton county.
The remains were brought to the Snyder Funeral Home here and this afternoon were taken to the late residence. Funeral services will be conducted from St. Augustine's Church at 9 o'clock Thursday morning. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary cemetery.
