MARGARETVILLE - Roas E Fairbairn, 84, last surviving charter meber of the Advent Christian Church in Arena, died December 1 in Margaretville Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, in the Advent Christin Church in margaretvile, the Rev. Richard Thurston of Margaretville officiation. Burial will be in the Margaretville Cemetery..

Mrs. Fairbairn was born Oct. 19, 1884, in Arena, a daugher of James and Sarah (Crook) Close. She was married Dec. 23, 1903, in Arena to James E Fairbairn, who died in 1955.

She was a charter member of the Advent Chrstian Church in Arena which was organized in 1903 and which was razed for the reservoir constrution.

Survivors are two sons, Melvin in Vietnam with the U.S. Army and LeRoy of Margaretville, nine grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Friends may call form 2 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesay at the Herrick Funeral Home, Margaetville.
