She was born Oct. 11, 1919, in Lehr, N.D., the daughter of Paulus and Lydia Wohl.
Irene was married to Roy C. Erickson on Jan. 29, 1939, in Missoula.
Irene was a stay-at-home mom and was noted for her wonderful home-cooked meals, especially German dishes. She was gifted in doing crafts, especially crocheting. She also enjoyed doing beadwork, knitting, embroidering and painting. Irene could "look" at something and make it. Irene also loved her beautiful yard. She and her husband, Roy, had a beautiful back yard of flowers.
Irene was preceded death by her parents, Paulus and Lydia Wohl; her husband, Roy C. Erickson; brothers, Reinhold, Theodore, Heinrich, Arthur, Herbert, Harold, Otto and William; and sisters, Emma Kienzle and Delores Crickenberger.
She is survived by her children, Vern (Carole), Vivian, Diane and Ron (Terry); four grandchildren, Rusty, Brent and Jim Erickson and Kari Paul; great-grandchildren, Cassie Erickson, Alissa Rahn, Russell Erickson Jr., Alex Erickson and Madison and Sydnee Paul; sister Esther Bendewall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at Garden City Funeral Home. At Irene's request, there will be graveside services at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all the employees at Riverside Health Care Center for their kindness and loving care shown for Irene while she was there.
