Minnie Louise Ener, 79, passed peacefully from this earth on February 5, 2013 with members of her family by her side. She was born on August 8, 1933 in Rosevine, Texas to the late Lillian and Monroe Alford. She grew up in Huffines, Texas where she met and married John Godwin Sr. They lived in Ganado, Texas and Liberty, Texas before moving to Houston in 1960, where she was a longtime employee of Kroger Corporation. Louise, as she was known to her friends and family, was a wonderful and loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She possessed a wonderful sense of humor that touched many hearts and her smile would brighten any room. Her kind heart and the joy she brought to our lives will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, John Godwin and Jim Ener, Brothers Gene Alford, James Alford, and Gerald Alford and daughter Carolyn Louise McLaughlin. She is survived by her sisters Mildred King and Julia Gilmore, brother Doyle Alford, Daughter Regina Godwin, Sons, John Godwin and wife Ramona, Randy Godwin and wife Becky, and Steven Godwin. Grandchildren, Alisa Laborde, Amanda Godwin, Lauren Godwin, and Nicholas Godwin and Anthony Solis and Greatgrandchildren, Grayson Laborde, Ella Louise Laborde and Madellyn Solis.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon, Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Earthman Funeral Home, Bellaire 6700 Ferris, Bellaire, Texas 77401. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 11, 2013 at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1101 Antoine, Houston Texas 77055.
