Mrs. Wood was born to Samuel and Nancy Mansker in Rockwood March 9, 1860.
She was united in marriage to John Vance Wood in November, 1879. The husband and one child preceded her to the grave. Surviving children are Clarence of Loogootee, Ind., Mrs. Carrie Andrews of Ebenezer Ridge, John of Ellis Grove, and Harold at home. Fifteen grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Adeliza Kirk, of Chester, also survive.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. H. Bagwill, prison chaplain of Menard; Rev. Arthur Taylor of Rockwood; and Rev. Wm. Gray of Puxico, Mo.
