Eliazim Baca, age 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. Eliazim was born in Socorro, NM on April 21, 1925 to Hermelindo and Magdalena (Valenzuela) Baca. Eliazim grew up in Socorro and graduated in 1946 as Valedictorian of his class. Eliazim was an office manager for a law firm in Socorro for 41 years and retired in 1987. Eliazim enjoyed hunting and playing golf. Eliazim was a past president of the Socorro Consolidated School Board and was instrumental in getting the new Socorro High School built.
Eliazim was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Julia, his son, Roy, his brothers, Ed H. Baca, George Baca, Ruben Baca and Robert Baca and his sister, Maimie Trujillo.
Eliazim is survived by his son, David, his brother, Aguinaldo, his sisters, Evangeline, Prescilla and Betty, his loving grandchildren, Noel, Daniel and Erlinda and his great-grandchildren, Michael, Kyle, Ryan, Katrina and Adrianna.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Daniels Family Funeral Services chapel, 309 Garfield, Socorro, NM with Services to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jacinto Alderete officiating. Interment will be held in the Socorro Cemetery.
