Funeral Services for Mary Elizabeth Goolsby, 79, of Cookeville were conducted March 7, from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home with Henry Shelby officiating. Burial followed in the Algood City Cemetery. Mrs. Goolsby was born March 21, 1918 in Cannon Co, to the late Thomas Benton McFerrin and Nola Mae Fuller McFerrin. Mrs. Goolsby died March 4, 1998 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was married to the late Fred Davis Goolsby. She was a member of the Collegeside Church of Christ. She is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters in law, Buddy and Carole Goolsby of Acworth, GA. David Goolsby of Cookeville. Mike and Sandy Goolsby of Cookeville, one daughter and son in law. Pam and Tony Britton of Woodstock, GA., five grandchildren, Greg, Tammy and Aston Goolsby, all of Cookeville, Mike Goolsby of Dallas, GA. and Dana Sexton of Knoxville, one great grandchild, Mary Michael Goolsby of Dallas, GA., three sisters, Evelyn Kimble of Hartford, IN., Jean Stevens of Dublin, GA. and Betty Jo Jones of Woodbury, two brothers, Marshall McFerrin of Muncie, IN. and Winfred McFerrin of Old Hickory and special friends, John and Evelyn Stites. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by Tom McFerrin, Litton McFerrin, Mrs. Ted Thomas, Pearl Hartley and grandson, Jason Michael Goolsby. Pallbearers were John Stites, Donnie Davidson, Mike Goolsby, Greg Goolsby, Avery Sexton and David Bethel. Hooper and Huddleston was in charge of arrangements.
