He was born Dec. 14, 1912, in Hutchinson, Kan., to Robert and Lenora Smith Culp. He married Clarabelle Sigsworth in Everett, Wash., on Feb. 6, 1936.
He lived in Everett until 1948 when he moved to Springfield. Culp worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps from October 1934 to February 1935. He was employed as a welder for 28 years with Weyerhaeuser.
Mr. Culp loved spending time with his family, playing horseshoes, fishing, boxing and traveling to Arizona. He was a lifetime member of the Elks and the Odd Fellows.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carol Hinkle and Donna Huser, both of Springfield; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
