Dorothy Archibald was born on September 4th, 1921 in Barrington, Northumberland to parents Robert and Anne Headly. She had one brother named James Headly.
During WWII she served as a Private. She was an anti-aircraft gunner. There she met her husband, Willis. In 1945, Dorothy married Willis Macbeth "Wink" Archibald. They had their first child, James Douglas on May 5th, 1946. Their daughter, Alexis Ann on August 5th, 1947; their son, Robert Wesley on August 30th 1948, their daughter, Shirley Lane Doyle(nee Archibald) on August 9th, 1949; Marion Askildt (nee. Archibald)on June 7th 1953; their daughter Barbara Ellen on June 8th, 1958 and their son Willis Andrew on August 9th, 1959 and her daughter who died in infancy, Alice Elizabeth November 22nd, 1963.
She was predeceased by her husband: Willis "Wink" Macbeth Archibald (1922-1988), her daughter Alice Elizabeth Archibald (1963-1963), her son: Robert Wesley Archibald (1948-2005), and her grandson: Robert Ryan Archibald (1978-2004)
Dorothy died at the age of 85 in 2006. She is buried in Garrick SK.
Doris is survived by her children: James, Alexis, Shirley, Marion(Kaare),Barbara,and Willis; Her grandchildren: Neil(Lynette), Mark, Shaelyn, Justin (Jayne), Erica,and great grandchildren: Allister, Julian, Liam, Bishop, Leah, Riley and Casey, as well as numerous other family members.
